OUR SERVICES

BATHING:

Shower – assist with standby or total bathing process.

Bed Bat – assist with total bathing while in bed.

Sponge – assist with partial bathing.

GROOMING:

Oral Hygiene – assist with brushing teeth or denture care.

Lotion – applying non-medicated cream, powder to the skin, or face.

Hair – shampooing, drying, combing, or brushing of the client’s hair.

Shaving – assist with only facial hair using an electric razor.

Nail Care – cleaning/filing only (NO cutting).

TOILETING:

Bathroom – assist the client to the toilet (give them privacy) make sure toilet paper is within reach.

Bedside Commode – assist with emptying and cleaning commode.

TRANSFER:

  • Assist client move from one position to another.
  • Client must be able to pivot and be able to bear his/ her own weight.
  • PCA cannot perform total lift of a client without assistance.

LIGHT HOUSEKEEPING:

  • Dusting.
  • Mopping.
  • Sweeping.
  • Vacuuming.
  • Change bed linen.
  • Make bed.
  • Clean bathroom.
  • Clean kitchen.
  • Wash dishes.

Bedroom – PCA will change, make bed, dusting and vacuuming.

Kitchen – PCA can wash dishes, clean countertop, microwave, stovetop, skin, sweep and mop the floor.

Living Room – PCA will do the dusting, polishing, fixing the furniture, vacuuming.

Bathroom – PCA can clean the mirror, counter, sink, shower wall, toilet, etc.

ERRANDS:

  • PCA can pick-up/ drop off prescriptions.
  • PCA can pick-up/ drop off mail.
  • PCA can pick-up/ drop off dry cleaning, etc. (please see care plan)

SHOPPING:

  • Client should use cash whenever possible, do not use debit or credit card to make purchases.
  • Grocery shopping includes food and household items.
  • Client should have a list ready AHEAD of time.
  • PCA will shop at the store closes to the client’s home (within 2 miles radius from client’s house).

MEAL PREPARATION:

  • Menu planning.
  • Prepare.
  • Serve.
  • Eating assistance (cutting food to bite size pieces).
  • Clean up.

RESPITE CARE:

  • Is to provide relief for the primary caregiver/ family member by providing a combination of homemaking and personal care services in needed by the client.
  • When providing RESPITE services PCA are NOT allowed to leave the client unattended unless authorize to do so by either the client’s family member or office. Leaving client’s unattended is considered “abuse”.

LAUNDRY:

  • PCA can wash, dry, fold, and can also put away clothes of the client need assistance.

TRANSPORTATION:

  • PCA’s are not authorized to transport clients anywhere at any time unless authorized to do so.
